A Quick Good Morning :.

Well, then– it’s been a couple of days, so I figured I would drop by and say hello and finish my coffee in true collaborative style– with you, gentle readers. I drink a toast– “May you always be gentle, but if not, may you– until the end of your days– always read”.

Before entering the stuffy and electrically-charged “computer room”- (verily, the ganglion cluster of the new hovel)- I spent a bit of time in the Walden woods, sipping coffee and trying to sit on a pumpkin (but alas, my host would not abide). Quite peaceful, all told, and that marks a bit of a difference from the last few weeks. At the very least there was a breeze, so unlike the oven-days through which we’ve all just suffered.

My skin now bears the imprint of sun & time, of the glorious naked day at Black’s Beach, where the water was so clear it was like a tropical dream. That I have turned to a veritable supernova, exuding heat that aloe cannot even reduce, is a small price to pay for time stolen from my normal insanity.

I have watched an excellent movie, Garden State, the writing/directorial debut for Zach Braff (who, if you’re interested, put together his own blog for the movie). Well, it was a nice, beautiful first movie, with an quirky texture and a fine, fine Natalie Portman, returning to real acting after suffering the altra-effects-but-no-real-acting-content Star Wars flix. It reminds you that Ms. Portman has done beautiful work before, namely in The Professional. every level possible.

Garden State did have flaws, but they were quite excusable in the end. I would dig deeper in, but this is supposed to be a quick good morning, so I will leave it to you to pursue, should that be your wish.

My attempts to implement Sorenson Squeeze have all but failed– I am reduced to trying 3 hour encodings from Final Cut Pro at night, while I sleep (and today, while I work on the new Linux Box). If anyone out there in Readerland has any knowledge concerning this bad-ass compression suite, I would absolutely love an email. ‘Twould make my life incomparably easier.

Ok — that’s all the excitement I can bear at the moment. I am sure I will be posting later, so have no fear: There is always– and I mean always- more later :)
